Roommate Matching

Let's face it...when we get to a certain age, we're not as flexible about who we want in our space. We tend to start making lists of our demands - the things we want in a roommate. Here are a few things to remember:

  • It can be exciting and lots of fun to share a room with someone you don’t know, but we know it can also be scary and anxiety-producing. We do our best to take that out of the mix.
  • None of us is the perfect roommate – some of us are Felix, and some of us are Oscar. Some of us are great sleepers, and others are up and down all night. We all have our quirks – but the truth is, we can all live with differences for a week or two in the interest of having a great women only getaway.
  • It can feel a bit like online dating if we take it too far with the interviewing process
  • You may just meet your new BFF!
  • If you really don’t want to have a roommate, or your requests are not achievable, we ask that you book a single occupancy spot on the tour (based on availability).

ROOMMATE MATCHING - LAND TOURS

  1. Make your deposit and book the trip that you’re interested in, and select “Double Occupancy.”
  2. On the registration form, select “Yes” to the question about pairing you with a roommate
  3. Answer the questions we ask on the registration form, which you’ll note are very simple
  4. Make your booking with your deposit
  5. Sisterhood Travels will match you with a roommate who is close in age as we possibly can.
  6. We also review whether you smoke or not (we would not place a smoker with a non-smoker).

Please note that all roommate matching for land tours is done after the final payment, and we will notify you by email that “you’ve been matched.”

ONCE YOU SELECT “MATCH ME TO A ROOMMATE,” – YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEARCH FOR ONE IN THE FACEBOOK GROUP – WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU!

ROOMMATE MATCHING - RIVER CRUISES

For River Cruises in 2024:

The process is the same as it is for land tours, with one exception:

We cannot confirm or make a booking for you with a cruise line until we have your roommate secured. This is because cruise lines do not allow a “TBA” booking. You may see a delay in receiving a confirmation that you’ve been booked until we have your roommate ready to book. Additionally, we need to match you to someone who wants to be in the same stateroom category. If this is the case, we will notify you, and you can decide if you are negotiable on the stateroom category and location. 

ONCE WE MAKE A ROOMMATE MATCH FOR YOU ON A CRUISE – WE CAN NOT CHANGE YOUR BOOKING TO A DIFFERENT ROOMMATE!!! IF WE HAVE MATCHED YOU TO A ROOMMATE AND YOUR ROOMMATE CANCELS, YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY REVERT TO A SINGLE-OCCUPANCY CABIN.

Sisterhood Travels is not a roommate service. Matching our clients with a roommate is a courtesy we offer so that everyone has an opportunity to travel with us. Once we are traveling, we are unable to change your room and/or your roommate.
