Thursday, August 11, 2022 Welcome to Edinburgh, Scotland. Proceed through customs and meet our driver/guide in the arrivals hall to begin our Scottish adventure. From the airport you will enjoy a half day Panoramic Edinburgh Tour ending at our hotel for an afternoon at leisure. This evening, we'll meet in the lobby for a Welcome Dinner at Bon Vivant. Friday, August 12, 2022 This morning after breakfast at the hotel, we will board our private bus to be fully immersed in our Outlander Experience. Our full day tour will include visits to Hopetoun Castle which was used for many location scenes in Seasons 1 and 2, such as the home of Duke of Sandringham. We will then visit Blackness Castle used to depict Fort Williams in Outlander and Midhope Castle which is known as Lallybroch, the fictional castle in the series. The afternoon will be followed by visits to Fife and Culross. Both villages boast multiple locations from the Outlander series but are also quintessential Scotland.
This evening you will experience the Military Tattoo with preferred seating. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual series of military tattoos performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and international military bands, and artistic performance teams on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle in the capital of Scotland. Saturday, August 13, 2022 After breakfast at our hotel this morning, we will begin our journey north with a visit to Stirling Castle and Drummond Castle Gardens as well as Glenturret Distillery, the oldest working distillery in Scotland. We will end our day in the Victorian town of Pitlochry, a lovely town with an idyllic setting, surrounded by mountains and impressive architecture. We'll end our day in Perthshire for our overnight stay at the Murrayshall Estate where we'll have dinner with our Sisters at the hotel. Hotel: Murrayshall Estate. (B, D)
Sunday, August 14, 2022 After our breakfast this morning, we'll join our guide for a full day tour in Aberdeenshie and Speyside. We'll have a photo stop opportunity at Dunnottar Castle, the most photogenic castle of Scotland (from a distance), a visit to Drum Castle (which for centuries was the seat of the chief of Clan Irvine), and enjoy a short walking tour of Aberdeen as we make our way to Inverness. Monday, August 15, 2022 After breakfast, we'll begin our exploration of The Highlands with our full day Inverness tour. We'll experience one of Scotland's most iconic legends on our Loch Ness Cruise - maybe we'll spot Nessie! We'll continue the day with a visit to Culloden Battlefield and the Highland Folk Village Museum. We'll enjoy another evening at leisure with dinner on our own. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 After breakfast, we'll join our driver guide to begin our journey to The Isle of Skye, connected to Scotland's northwest coast by bridge, it is known for its rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles.
No journey to Skye is complete without a stop at the Eilean Donan Castle. As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan is recognized all around the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 This morning after breakfast, we'll join our driver guide to begin our journey to Glasgow. We're going to have the unique opportunity to travel on the Jacobite Steam Train from Mallaig to Fort William. Friday, August 19, 2022 After breakfast, we'll begin our transfer back to the Edinburgh where you'll have an afternoon and evening for independently explore. But, don't miss our private group Afternoon Tea! Hotel: The Bonham Hotel. (B, Tea)
Saturday, August 20, 2022 After breakfast, we'll meet in the lobby for our group transfer to Edinburgh Airport for our flight home to the U.S. - hopefully with wonderful memories and new friendships! (B)
